Why do you need a Gender Affirming Kit?

My family isn’t very supportive when it comes to my identity. I had to sneak in with some friends in order to attend this Pride festival in Indy. At the event, I learned about Kaleidoscope and became extremely interested in one of their kits. Having one of these kits would mean a lot to me because, even though I’m 18, I’m not financially stable enough to move out yet, which means I have to continue living with my unsupportive family. Even if I’m unable to receive a package, I would like to sincerely thank everyone involved in this initiative for helping kids like me feel safer and more comfortable with themselves.

This would help me with my gender dysphoria and feeling more comfortable in my own skin. I have never had the financial means or access to resources to assist me in my transition before. All I truly desire is to experience happiness with myself and I believe that this would be a crucial initial step towards achieving that. I dislike seeing incongruencies between my body and my reflection in the mirror. My ultimate goal is to regain confidence and I believe that obtaining these things would greatly alleviate that journey.

I have been undergoing a transition in isolation for the past year, and it has been quite challenging for me to muster up the courage to venture outside alone and shop for clothes that I have never worn before. Unfortunately, I don’t have many friends who are available to accompany me or share in my journey of transition. However, I maintain hope that the SelfMade box will bring a greater sense of joy and excitement into my life.
