What people say about Kaleidoscope

This is the first time I’ve ever been in the same room with another trans person before!

I get and give the best hugs at Kaleidoscope. I feel so good at the end of the night!

The idea behind a kaleidoscope is that it’s a structure that’s filled with broken bits and pieces, and somehow if you can look through them you still see something beautiful. And I feel we are all like that a little bit.

I am presently unable to acquire anything that affirms my gender due to economic constraints and limited income. It is challenging for me to venture outside most days, as I experience discomfort when confronted with my own reflection, you know?

I revealed my true identity about three years ago, but due to the impact of Covid and health issues, I am currently struggling to feel comfortable in my own body. I feel extremely uncomfortable and disgusted to the extent that I have resorted to getting tattoos in order to conceal scars from sexual assault and self-harm. All I desire is to feel euphoric and content with my body, but unfortunately, I cannot even afford basic binding equipment to flatten my chest.

I have found myself in the midst of chaos and I have realized that I have been concealing this aspect of my identity. I believe that acknowledging this will assist me in taking the next step towards being more self-assured.

What people say about #SelfMade

Why do you need the #SelfMade Gender Affirming Kit

I never feel as though I am being true to myself. I often struggle to examine my reflection and determine where to begin in order to become my authentic self. It appears that this box could be a helpful tool in guiding me towards discovering and embracing my true identity.

I am attempting to navigate everything mostly by myself. My family either does not comprehend or simply lacks interest in my struggles. Considering my physical attributes, including both height and weight, I find myself too shy to explore physical stores for shopping. Online shopping outcomes vary greatly.

I require a SelfMade box because gender affirming items, such as binders, tend to be quite pricey. As a college student doing an internship, most of my money is allocated towards paying bills. Hence, I am in need of a new binder since I typically wear the same one daily. Occasionally, if it requires washing, I am left with no option but to go without one, resulting in uncomfortable stares or the possibility of unintentional disclosure of personal information.

I am a senior university student. I have been out at school for nearly two years, but I recently came out at home a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, my parents do not offer their support, and I am unable to afford necessities such as a gender-affirming haircut or packing/binding until I can become financially independent from them. I am hoping to save up money in the near future, but a significant portion of my funds is currently being allocated towards food and graduate school expenses.
